DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

Raising Harts was founded in 2022 and supports families with autistic and neurodiverse children through mentorship, workshops and inclusive programming. Position:
Raising Harts is looking for a part-time Director of Finance with experience in 501(c)(3) non-profit accounting. This person is a strategic partner to the management team. The successful candidate will be hands-on and initiate and execute on all financial aspects as noted below.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and present quarterly and annual financial statements (monthly as the organization matures)
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ensure timely reporting to stakeholders
Coordinate with external tax provider
Manage accounts payable and receivable functions
Oversee payroll processing through third-party vendor and related compliance
Assist in the development of financial strategies and long-term planning
Manage relationships with banks and other financial institutions
Collaborate with program managers to develop and monitor program budgets and multi-year planning
Manage annual processes and provide ongoing updates to the management team on forecast vs. actual results
Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making and support fundraising efforts with financial data and analysis
Collaborate closely with the Raising Harts grant writer for proper reporting and budgeting; Provide supporting document for any grants received
Effectively communicate important financial matters to the Board of Directors
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards
Stay current with changes in nonprofit financial regulations and best practices
Requirements:
• Proactive and strategic thinker who can work independently, and as part of a team, and to meet deadlines
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Minimum of three years of experience in nonprofit financial management; Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and practices
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis; Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Commitment to the mission and values of the organization
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
